Lunching With Books @ Pontotoc County Library
Tuesday, February 10 12 Noon
A Mississippi native, Robert Bruce Smith spent his childhood in Ripley, graduated from high school in Tupelo, and received a bachelor’s degree from Ole Miss. He served in the United States Air Force, spent nineteen years as a representative for the Community Concerts division of Columbia Artists Management in New York City, and then worked as a computer specialist and systems manager for the Kraft Foods, Inc.
He now lives in Tupelo, where he does technology consulting and enjoys researching topics about science, architecture, and Mississippi history. He also reviews concerts and writes a local history column for the Northeast Mississippi Daily Journal. In 2004, he published a book, “Madness and the Mississippi Bonds,” about the famous Mississippi bond scandal that became a worldwide cause célèbre in the decades immediately preceding the Civil War.
